Lower Body

Hip 

Your hip joint is designed to withstand repeated motions, but as we cause wear and tear to our cartilage and joint, hips can become sore and rundown. There are a variety of conditions which can cause a hip problem and at The Wilmslow Hospital, we are equipped for dealing with conditions affecting the hip, as well as providing detailed diagnostics and effective pain management solutions.

Symptoms you may experience is you have a hip problem:

  • Lack of full range movement in the hip
  • Discomfort in your thigh, groin and buttocks

Knee

We operate a specialised service for the diagnosis and treatment of knee injuries, knee pain and other knee-related problems. Examinations, such as X-ray , Ultrasound MRI, can usually be arranged for the same day as the consultation, allowing faster diagnosis and a more rapid path to treatment.

Symptoms 

  • Limited or reduced range of movement in the joint and leg
  • Difficult walking and bearing weight
  • Difficult bending the knee
  • Bruising or discoloration
  • Feeling weak or unstable when standing
  • Grinding under the kneecap
  • Knee cap instability
  • Localised swelling on the joint

Foot and Ankle

At The Wilmslow Hospital, we run a One Stop foot and ankle clinic providing a streamlined package of care for your foot and ankle condition. The clinics can comprehensively address orthopaedic problems right from diagnosis to treatment in one simple session.

Our clinic includes:

  • Initial consultation Investigations required such as X-Rays, Ultrasound, MRI scans done at same appointment.
  • Follow up appointment to discuss results of investigations made on the same day
  • Physiotherapy review if required
  • Certain treatment modalities initiated on the same day if your foot & ankle condition warrants it, for example; steroid injections, PRP injections, Shockwave therapy

All of this is done in the space of 2-3 hours. This avoids multiple follow up hospital visits over the span of two to three weeks, avoiding delay in knowing the diagnosis and starting treatment. It makes for an improved patient experience.
