Outcome measures of intervention in balance and tinnitus patients. Effectiveness of the new extended wear 24 hour per day hearing aid.

Philips has worked in Audiology for almost 30 years, initially training to be an Audiologist at the Royal Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in Shrewsbury. He then completed a Masters degree in Audiology at Manchester Univeristy in 1996, completed his certificate of Audiological Scientist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. There he developed, co-ordinated and ran district hearing and balance services for adults and children. He completed a Masters in Business Administration in 2004 at Staffordshire University. In 2005, he left to work for the University of Manchester, leading Audiology research networks with the Medical Research Council, Directing the Masters Degree in Audiology course and teaching undergraduate and post-graduate Audiology students. Whilst keeping  a part time lecturing position at the university, Philips is enjoying focussing his energied on providing high quality hearing, balance and tinnitus assessment diagnosis and rehabilitative services to patients with Holt Hearing and Balance Services. 


Philips specialises in the assessment, diagnosis of children and adults with hearing, balance and tinnitus problems. Following diagnosis a range of techniques and rehabilitation programmes/exercsises to treat and alleviate the symptoms experienced by patients. 


Philip has many years of experience assessing and fitting the latest technology digital hearing aids along with complimentatry assistive listerning deviced such as bluetooth television and mobile phone devices, remote microphone devices for us in meetings and social events and Bluetooth and wireless. 


In 2009, Philips was voted President of the British Academy of Audiology of which he has been a member throughout his career. 


Philips became a Trustee of Ear Aid Nepal charity in 2015 advising and developing audiology service provision and coordinating international volunteers for the charity.
