For most X-Rays, you will not need to prepare and can eat and drink as normal beforehand. However, there are some types of X-Ray which may require you to stop eating or drinking a few hours before hand or refrain from taking certain medication if you having a contrast X-Ray.

You should wear loose fitted clothing for the X-ray, but it’s advisable not to wear anything metal, including clothing with studs or jewellery, as you will need to remove it first.
